Pocket also has a “Ryan” and a “Fluet” in his name, but doesn’t often go by either of them.
His creative endeavors began at a young age after being forced through the haunted houses at Fright Fest by his father. This sparked not only fear, but a thought of “hey, I could make something like this."
The very next year, at the ripe age of 8, he would go on to design and build a backyard haunted house for the neighborhood to enjoy on Halloween night and would continue to grow the endeavor over the following 10 years.
The creative bug had bit.
After graduating from the Texas Creative program at UT Austin, he entered the world of advertising. There, he quickly learned he was not content to create only commercials, digital, print and OOH, and dipped into game creation, documentary filmmaking, television series development, startup brand creation, film direction, immersive experiential, alternate-reality world building and concept album theories (yes, this happened) for brands and artists as varied as E! Entertainment, Nike, Google, Justin Bieber, Hinge, Paramount Pictures, Cartoon Network, Citizens Bank, and Sony.
He’s had the opportunity to flex these skills at big agencies like Team One, 180LA and Saatchi & Saatchi, scrappy, creative agencies like Red Antler, Interesting Development and Party Land, and entertainment-first companies like RadicalMedia and BBH LA. Most recently, he led the creative department at VC/agency hybrid Bullish.
Thus far, Pocket’s work has been recognized by the likes of Cannes, One Show, ADC, FWA, Webbys, AICP, Effies, Clios, Radio Mercury, and even Saturday Night Live.
Like all people, he doesn’t know what will come next, but he plans to work hard ensuring it’s unlike anything he’s done before.
